Multimodal Mobility Manifesto (MMM)
What is it?
For the first time a Manifesto has been created that manages to identify those levers of change with the capacity to accelerate the transition into the future, by confronting key players in the sector with the challenge of Multimodal Mobility in a benchmark city like Madrid.
This Manifesto is the first of the tractor projects that addresses some of the integral challenges we face.
Systemic diagnosis of the current situation of urban mobility in Madrid.
Workshops with more than 20 mobility companies that are currently operating in the city of Madrid.
The information is synthesized in this Multimodality Mobility Manifesto, both a statement of principles and a bold call to action.
Make multimodal urban mobility a real alternative; an accessible, convenient and safe service for citizens to move in more sustainable and healthy ways around the city.
The mobility of a big city like Madrid forms a complex system with multiple interacting elements and external forces that influence it.
There is no single effective solution to the challenge of urban mobility, but rather a set of complementary measures or solutions.
Using systemic mapping we spent a year collecting and integrating the views of more than 20 stakeholders in mobility in Madrid to facilitate the understanding of their interdependence.
We have explored beyond vehicles, new services and disruptive technologies to understand mobility from the needs of citizens, the difficulties faced by regulation, obstacles to collaboration, the value of data and the collateral effects of decisions.
We launched the Multimodal Mobility Manifesto with the commitment of more than 20 companies keen to accelerate sustainability in the urban environment, such as Renfe, Ferrovial, Iberdrola, Seat and key players in the public sector such as EMT and the Madrid City Council.

04. Next steps
By identifying the variables that most greatly influence the mobility system in Madrid, we can find collaborative, replicable and scalable solutions for other contexts, in other cities.
